Azerbaijani judoka Rashid Mammadaliyev (73 kg) started the "Grand Slam" tournament held in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, with a victory.
Idman.Biz reports that the athlete faced Vlad Mitru from Moldova in the 1/8 final stage.
R. Mammadaliyev defeated his opponent and qualified for the 1/4 finals.
It should be noted that the "Grand Slam" tournament will end on May 3.

The 26-year-old athlete will face the winner of the pair Binyomin Nazirov (Tajikistan) / Vlad Mitru (Moldova) in the 1/8 final stage.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan is represented in the competition included in the World Judo Tour by six judokas in four weight categories. Yesterday, Murad Muradli (60 kg), Islam Rahimov and Nizami Imranov (both 66 kg) finished the tournament without medals. The "Grand Slam" will end on May 3.
