The European Judo Cup among youth, held in Istanbul, Turkey, has ended. On the final day of the international tournament, the Azerbaijani team added four more medals to its tally.
Idman.Biz reports that on the last day of the competition, Ramazan Ahmadov (+100 kg) defeated all his rivals, losing only in the final and becoming a silver medalist. Other athletes - Aslan Kotsoev (90 kg), Aysun Mammadova (52 kg) and Khadija Gadashova (57 kg) won bronze medals.
It should be reminded that on the first day of the tournament, Nihad Mamishov (66 kg) won a gold medal, rising to the highest step of the podium. Also, Aykhan Mirzazade (60 kg) and Sadiq Isgandarli (66 kg) won bronze medals.
Thus, the Azerbaijani national team finished the tournament with a total of seven medals (one gold, one silver, five bronze). With this result, our team ranked fifth in the overall team standings among 27 countries, and third among men.
