The semi-final opponents of our judokas have been determined. Jamal Gamzatkhanov, competing in the +100 kg weight category, will face Russian representative Bislan Katamardov, while Ushangi Kokauri will face Polish representative Jakub Sordil.

Azerbaijani athletes continue their successful performances at the Dushanbe Grand Slam judo tournament held in the capital of Tajikistan. Both of our representatives competing in the heavyweight category did not give their opponents a chance and qualified for the semi-final stage.
Idman.Biz reports that Ushangi Kokauri, who competes in the +100 kg weight category, has attracted attention with his consecutive victories. He defeated the Iranian representative first, and then the Romanian representative with ippon, adding his name to the list of the strongest four.
Jamal Gamzatkhanov, another judoka in the same weight category, was also insurmountable for his opponent. He defeated Montenegrin Jovan Pekovic with ippon and became our second semi-finalist.

In the men's competition, Ushangi Kokauri will face Iranian representative Mohammadpuria Banaeyan Tolki in the round of 16 in the over 100 kg weight category. Jamal Gamzatkhanov, another athlete competing in the same weight category, will face Jovan Pekovic to advance to the next stage.
