The European Judo Cup among adults has ended in Gori, Georgia.
Idman.Biz reports that the Azerbaijani national team won nine medals in the tournament. Our country was represented by 24 judokas in the competition. According to the International Judo Federation, 191 athletes from 18 countries participated in the Gori European Cup.
On the second day of the competition, Azerbaijani representatives Nihad Shikhalizade, Khayyam Aliyev, Ajdar Bagirov, Shahin Asadov, Elmar Gasimov, Gurban Mammadli, Diana Tskayeva and Ulviyya Bayramova took to the tatami.
According to the results of the day, Ajdar Bagirov won a gold medal. Diana Tskayeva, Khayyam Aliyev and Elmar Gasimov won bronze medals.
Thus, Azerbaijani judokas completed the European Cup with two gold, one silver and six bronze medals. Our team took third place in the overall standings. Azerbaijan took second place in the team ranking among men.

On the second day of the competition, eight Azerbaijani judokas will take to the tatami. Nihad Shikhalizade and Khayyam Aliyev will compete in the 90 kg weight category. Ajdar Bagirov, Shahin Asadov and Elmar Gasimov will perform in the 100 kg category. Gurban Mammadli will test his strength in the +100 kg weight category.
In the women's competition, Diana Tskayeva (48 kg) and Ulviyya Bayramova (57 kg) will compete for medals.
It should be noted that 191 judokas from 18 countries are participating in the tournament. Currently, the Azerbaijani national team has five medals - one gold, one silver and three bronze.
