Idman.biz reports that Elkhan Samadov, President of the Professional Football League (PFL), said this in his statement to Telegraf, while sharing his thoughts on the futsal team of the same name, of which he is the head coach, winning the Azerbaijan Cup.
According to him, the opponent's losses also played a role in PFL's victory: "I said before that it is already an honor to play with 'Araz Nakhchivan'. We worked hard and luck was on our side. The lack of legionnaires and the large number of injuries in 'Araz-Nakhchivan' equalized the balance of power. Otherwise, it would not have been possible to win."
Samadov also spoke about his love for football: "I have always said that futsal is very popular in Azerbaijan. Here, the efforts of the federation president Zaur Akhundov are undeniable. The BEGOC (European Games Operations Committee) club, where I was a playing coach, reached the final in the 2015/2016 season and lost to EKOL in the decisive match. This time, although I was not on the field due to my health, I was always with the team. Football is not just my job, it is my life. I am very happy today. I express my endless gratitude to everyone who paid attention and congratulated me, both on my own behalf and on behalf of my team."
It should be noted that PFL defeated "Araz-Nakhchivan" 7:1 in the final.
