"We completed all the tasks and won. I congratulate everyone on the victory."
Idman.biz reports that these words were said by Elvin Alizade, the captain of our national minifootball team, in an interview with Sportal.az, commenting on the 4-0 victory over Slovenia in the second round of the group stage of the World Championship held in Baku.
He believes that they will also win the match against Mauritania in the last round of the group stage: "Mauritania is a good opponent. They are a faster team. But they don't look good tactically. I hope we will win that match too. We are better prepared."
The experienced football player explained the reason for the loss of points in the first round match against Bahrain: "The lawn factor hindered us in that match. Now the cover is 'settled'. It was like that in Slovakia. I have had this experience. Already in the second match, the lawn factor did not affect us and we showed our game. Frankly, Bahrain is not a stronger team than Slovenia. The second match also showed that the loss of points in the first round was due to the field factor. We are well prepared for the World Championship. We played well as a team against Slovenia. We showed determination. The conversation between the Federation leadership and the team also had a positive effect. They supported us after the draw in the first round. I also thank the fans. They supported us excessively."
