Sahib Mammadov, the head coach of the Azerbaijan national beach soccer team, evaluated the games held in Spain as part of the first qualifying round (EBSL) of the European Championship in his statement to the AFFA press service. Sport24.az reports with reference to AFFA that Mammadov also spoke about the goals of the national team:
"Although we lost to Lithuania in the last game of the group, we won the first two matches and qualified for the Superfinal. With this, we coped with the main task. I would attribute the result in the match with Lithuania to fatigue. Because we had to spend a lot of energy in the first match against England. Anyway, regardless of the result of the meeting with Lithuania, we had already secured a place in the Superfinal. Only the last match would determine the group winner. Our next goal is to reach the final at the European Superfinal, which will be held in Italy in September, and qualify for League A."
It should be noted that our national team, which won against England (5:4) and Belgium (11:2) in Group A of League B, lost to Lithuania (3:4). Our team, which finished the group in second place with 5 points, qualified for the Superfinal, which will be held in Italy between September 7-14.
