Elvin Alizade, the captain of the Azerbaijani national minifootball team, shared his impressions of the match against Romania in the 1/8 finals of the World Championship.
In his statement to "Report", he stated that they are not behind their opponent, the current world champion.
The football player emphasized that they know the Romanian national team well:
"As you know, Romania has been the European champion 6 times and the world champion once. Well, they are an opponent worthy of respect. But we are not behind them either. Because we have won all the games we played against Romania in recent years, both in the world and European championships. Therefore, the advantage is with us. But let's not forget that the opponent is the current world champion. We know the opponent, we will go to the field to win. The team is well prepared. I think we will pass the stage. This Romania is not like the previous team. Their players are relatively older. Maybe they didn't have good preparation. Anyway, it looks like that from the outside. But this could also be a planned work."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani national team, which finished the group stage of the World Cup held at the National Gymnastics Arena as the leader, will face Romania today in the 1/8 finals. The match will start at 20:30.
