Ramil Aliyev, a member of the Azerbaijan national beach soccer team, shared his impressions of being the top scorer in the first qualifying round of the European Championship held in Spain.
In an interview with "Report", he evaluated the games he played in the tournament.
The footballer, who became the top scorer of the tournament with 5 goals, emphasized that the referees put some pressure on the team in the match against Lithuania:
"We played excellently in the first qualifying round of the European Championship and applied everything we worked on in training in the matches. Since we secured a ticket to the Superfinal, we went into the last match against Lithuania relatively relaxed. The referees put some pressure on us. They didn't record penalty kicks in our favor 3 times. I hope it will be better in the Superfinal. The games will be very difficult. We will prepare better. We will analyze all the opponents and go to the games and make our people happy. As for the goals I scored, I am working on myself. I will try to increase the number of my goals and become the top scorer of the European Superfinal as well."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani national team defeated England 5:4 and Belgium 11:2 in the matches they played in the first qualifying round of the European Championship. The team lost to Lithuania 3:4 in the last match of the stage.
The team, coached by Sahib Mammadov, will compete in the Superfinal to be held in Italy between September 7-14. The teams that will take the first two places in the competition with the participation of 8 teams will be promoted to League A.
