We want the World Championship to be held at a level worthy of Azerbaijan's name.
"Report" reports that this was stated by Taleh Nasibov, Executive Vice President of the Azerbaijan Minifootball Federation (AMF), at a press conference dedicated to the Minifootball World Championship to be held in Baku.
The AMF official said he was sure that the World Cup would be interesting:
"Our country is used to holding such big events. Taking this example, we are seriously preparing for the competition. We are trying to make the tournament worthy of Azerbaijan's name. Such competitions require great responsibility. If we take one of the top three places, we will be considered successful. Of course, as the host, we would like the World Cup trophy to remain in Azerbaijan and win."
It should be noted that the World Championship will be held from May 21 to June 1 at the National Gymnastics Arena. The Azerbaijani national team will compete with Slovenia, Mauritania and Bahrain in Group A of the World Cup, which will be attended by 32 teams.
