Philippe Diallo, President of the French Football Federation, has assessed the possibility of Zinedine Zidane being appointed as head coach of the national team. Sport24.az reports that the head of the organization stated that he has great respect for the French specialist's successes as both a player and a coach.
However, he emphasized that he does not want to anticipate events, that everything has its time, and that the main focus is currently on the World Championship. Against this background, the current head coach of the national team, Didier Deschamps, announced that he would leave the team after WC-2026.
It should be noted that Zidane is still the main candidate for the position of head coach of the French national team. The 53-year-old specialist's last job was at Real Madrid. He managed this team in 2016-2018 and 2019-2021.
