Former Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane will become the head coach of the French national team after the 2026 World Cup. He will replace Didier Deschamps. According to Sport24.az, insider Fabrizio Romano shared this information on the "X" social media platform.
According to the source, the 53-year-old Frenchman has agreed to take the helm of the team. Although no official documents have been signed yet, the parties have reached a verbal agreement.
Deschamps announced last January that he would leave the French national team after the World Cup.
It should be noted that Zidane was the head coach of Real Madrid from 2016-2018 and from 2019 to 2021. Under the leadership of the French specialist, the Madrid club won the Spanish Championship twice and the Champions League three times in a row.
