Former Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane explained how a coach can achieve success at Los Blancos.
According to Idman.Biz, Zidane believes that a coach at Real is doomed to be subservient to the players.
At Real Madrid, coaches are at the mercy of the players. For me, that's the key to success: you're on the players' side. If you don't understand that, you won't last long. We're here to support the players, you have to show them that you're there. The players have to like it for the dressing room to accept what you're trying to implement. If the players don't agree with everything you do, there will always be something missing.
They really enjoyed working with us. We instilled a lot of confidence in the players. The players had gone through a difficult period and had to regain their self-confidence, their physical shape, everything. Our coaching staff created a system to help them get everything back. When a player is competitive, eager to train and play, he is sure to win all the titles of the season," Zidane told Goal.
As head coach of Real Madrid, Zidane is a two-time Spanish champion, a two-time Spanish Super Cup winner, a three-time Champions League winner, as well as a two-time UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup winner.
