"Khankendi", the representative of the Azerbaijan II League, prepared for the match (2:1) against "Karadag Lokbatan", which took place in the XV round, with plans A and B for more than a month.
This was stated by the head coach of the team, Zaur Hajiyev, in his statement to "Report".
The expert commented on the victory over the opponent and the preparation process for the game as follows:
"We knew that the match would be tense. "Karadag Lokbatan" is a team consisting of quite experienced and quality players. We have been preparing for more than a month against the opponent with plans A and B. The first half started more tense, there was a lot of pressure. We had difficulty taking the second balls against the team playing with long air passes. This was expected. Only some players had difficulty fulfilling the tasks given in the first half. We were forced to make changes in the system and the squad. It can be said that the second half took place under our advantage. Overall, my team fought very well, made a comeback and won."
He explained the changes he made after being appointed as the head coach of the team as follows:
"After taking over the team, we tried to resort to certain options by analyzing the previous games. If the team preferred the four-defender system more in the previous period, I switched to the five-defender system and made changes in the system. In addition, we parted ways with some players and added players suitable for the new system."
Z.Hajiyev emphasized the importance of maintaining leadership:
"My team is currently the leader, but it is necessary to maintain this. We have a long marathon ahead of us and we must maintain seriousness in all games. Football is a sport full of surprises, if we approach it carelessly, there may be a problem in terms of results. This success is the result of the work of the entire team, including the management, administrative and medical staff, not just mine. We will fight until the end of the championship with the principle of "We are stronger together"."
It should be noted that the "Khankendi" club currently leads the tournament table of the II League with 42 points.
