"This was the success of the entire team." These words were said by Zaur Akhundov, the president of the Nakhchivan Football Federation, in his statement to "Nakhchivan TV".
The functionary commented on "Araz-Nakhchivan" eliminating the Greek representative "Aris" in the II qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League:
"We thank the coaches, players, and the entire staff. I am as happy as every resident of Nakhchivan. Our team qualified for the European Cups for the first time and achieved a victory in their debut."
Akhundov recalled that 60-70 percent of the squad had changed:
"Very professional players have been invited. Motivation is where it should be. They know their job well. They have performed in front of even larger crowds of fans than this. They showed their professionalism once again in Greece. They played football in front of 25,000 fans."
It should be noted that "Araz-Nakhchivan", which defeated "Aris" 2:1 in Baku, drew with their opponent on the road - 2:2.
