"It was a tough match. We wanted to win and get closer to our rivals in the league table. We are continuing on our way. We will prepare for the next games." These words were said by Yusif Nabiyev, the captain of "Sabail", in his statement to Sport24.az.
The experienced footballer commented on the head referee's decision to award a penalty at the end of the match and then cancel it:
"Our goal is unequivocally to return to the Premier League. There are many matches ahead, and we must show good results in these matches to achieve our goal. In that episode, the ball grazed my foot and hit my hand. These images are not visible in the video. It looks like it hit my hand directly from a distance, but that's not the case at all. Also, I was outside the penalty area. The assistant referee saw the episode and made the right decision."
It should be noted that "Sabail", with 26 points, is in 3rd place in the league table.
