Azerbaijan national team goalkeeper Yusif Imanov has left the "Sabah" club.
Idman.biz reports that he shared this on his social media account.
Imanov, who has defended the honor of the Baku representative for 9 years, said that he proudly wore the "Sabah" uniform since 2016: "Participating in many games and being a member of this family during these years has been a great experience and a valuable stage for me. However, unfortunately, subjective attitudes and discrimination against me within the club in the last 6 months, as well as the lack of suitable conditions, have negatively affected my career, especially my development prospects as a young goalkeeper of the national team."
According to the 23-year-old goalkeeper, this decision was not easy at all: "After comprehensively evaluating the situation, taking into account the attitude shown and the official responses I received from the club, I decided to unilaterally terminate the current contract. Official correspondence has been conducted regarding this issue for almost a month, and all legal procedures have been carried out within the framework of the law. I thank "Sabah" for the years I spent there, I express my gratitude to all coaches, teammates and fans who supported me. Ahead there will be new goals, new arenas and a stronger Yusif Imanov!".
