"I think the Ukrainian national team will play more responsibly in this match." These words were said by Yuri Maksimov, the former Ukrainian head coach of "Keshla" (now "Shamakhi"), in his statement to Sport24.az.
The 56-year-old expert shared his thoughts on the Ukraine-Azerbaijan game, which will be held today in the qualifying round of the DÇ-2026:
"The Ukrainian national team relaxed a bit after the match in which they defeated Iceland (5:3). They lost to France in the first match, then drew with Azerbaijan in Baku. Then they won. The mood is already good in the team. I think they will be more responsible and prepared after the match with Iceland."
Maksimov considered his compatriots to be the favorites in this match:
"The chances are 60 to 40, maybe even 70 to 30. Ukraine will be determined to win. Because there is no other choice. They must fulfill the goal set before them. Therefore, the national team will try to win this match."
It should be noted that the Ukraine-Azerbaijan game, which will be held in Krakow today, will start at 22:45.
