"I don't know the reason for leaving the team. The contract ended, and no negotiations were held with me."
Idman.biz reports that this was stated by former "Kapaz" player Yegor Khvalko in an interview with Futbolinfo.az.
The 28-year-old defender said that he remembers his career at the Ganja club with positive memories: "Kapaz" is "number 1" for me and I don't think this opinion will change. I was very happy to be there. My only disappointment is that I will not be able to play in the new stadium. I wish the club development and qualification for European Cups. Of course, it is difficult for me to leave the team. I felt at home here. The profession of a football player is like this - you are here today, somewhere else tomorrow. The 102 games I played in "Kapaz" are a great experience. I became stronger and more confident. I played with strong football players and learned a lot from them."
The Belarusian legionnaire also touched upon the difficulties and atmosphere in the club: "Difficulties arose when there were no results. Such moments were difficult. It was not easy when the head coaches changed during the season. But in the team we have always been like friends. I have always been responsible and disciplined. My relationship with my teammates has always been good. I think that's why I became the captain."
Khvalko is currently without a club and his future plans are not yet clear: "I want to continue doing what I love. But so far there have been no negotiations with any club. I would return to Azerbaijan with great pleasure. Because what I liked from the beginning was that the level of the championship is quite high."
