Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso, in his statement after the last match, evaluated both his team's game and shared his thoughts on the course of the season.
Idman.Biz reports that the expert emphasized that the season is long and said that the tournament table will change several times.
Alonso admitted that there are shortcomings in the team's attacking football:
"We should have played better football tonight. I would say that we have few long, dominant attacking episodes. We need to work on that".
The Spanish coach stated that they played better in the second half, but there was not enough accuracy:
"We were better in the second half. Accuracy was lacking. We had 3-4 very clear episodes, but we couldn't capitalize on them. But this is not the end, we are still at the beginning of the road".
The head coach highly appreciated the team's fighting spirit:
"There is no self-sacrifice in the players? No, never. I liked the character of the players tonight. We must stay together".
Finally, Alonso said that after defeats, the whole fate will not be decided in one game:
"Will everything be decided in Bilbao? No, it will just be a game for 3 points. It's a good opportunity to change the situation".
