Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso spoke after the 2:2 draw with Elche in the 13th round of the Spanish La Liga. Sport24.az reports that the Spanish specialist spoke about his team's inability to play the football they wanted in this match:
"It's upsetting to concede immediately after making it 1:1. The 2:1 score was also disappointing for us, but we kept fighting, brought the score to 2:2. We had another good chance. I felt we had to take the game into the opponent's half. I analyze everything after matches. I try to draw conclusions with the coaching staff and convey to the players what we did well, what needs to be improved. In the match with Elche, I saw that we lacked consistency. I wasn't very happy with our game. In the first half, the game was going the way we wanted and we could have taken the lead, but we didn't succeed."
After 13 rounds in La Liga, Real Madrid leads the standings with 32 points. Elche is in 9th place with 16 points.
