"Qarabag" has signed Joni Montiel, who previously played for the Spanish club "Rayo Vallecano". According to Sport24.az, a 2+2 year contract has been signed with the footballer.
The attacking midfielder will play with the number 9 jersey in "Qarabag".

But according to Anar Hajiyev, the head of the press service of "Qarabag", to Qol.az, the Spanish footballer will not be able to participate in both matches with "Shkëndija". The reason for this is that his name was not registered for the 3rd round.
"According to the rules, the name of the new football player can be sent to UEFA only one day after the end of the qualifying round at the latest. That is, in the case of Joni Montiel, his name had to be registered after the return match with "Shelbourne". But he was transferred to our club yesterday. For this reason, his name could not be included in the application for participation."
Thus, Joni Montiel will only be registered for the play-off stage.
