Trump's aides discussed with the organization the creation of a cup comparable to the World Cup. The White House also wanted two US Marines to be next to Trump during the awards ceremony. As a result, FIFA favored the president's aides, and the Marines simply carried the cup away from the scene after.
Donald Trump was presented with the FIFA Peace Prize at the group stage draw for the 2026 World Cup. The award was established in November 2025. Trump was the first recipient of the award.
