Former Real Madrid midfielder Wesley Sneijder has drawn a comparison between Barcelona's 18-year-old player Lamine Yamal and former Barcelona forward Lionel Messi. Sport24.az reports that the veteran footballer made a statement to the Adventure Gamers portal regarding this:
"There used to be talk that Lamine Yamal could one day be the new Messi, and now Yamal in Barcelona is the new Messi. The club will never let him go anywhere, and I don't think this guy will ever want to leave. Will Yamal be able to reach Messi's level or even surpass him? It is possible. Lamine improves every year, and he is already at a very high level."
It should be noted that Messi played for Barcelona from 2000 to 2021. The forward won seven Ballon d'Or awards while at the Catalan club.
