The WC-2026 draw ceremony took place in Washington yesterday. Sport24.az reports that it has been determined when the world's two star football players, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, could face each other at the World Cup.
Argentina is in Group J and will face Austria, Algeria and Jordan there. Portugal will play in Group K with Colombia, Uzbekistan and the play-off winner (New Caledonia, Jamaica or the Democratic Republic of Congo).
For them to face each other, Argentina and Portugal must be first in their groups and win in the 1/16 and 1/8 finals. Argentina can only face Portugal in the 1/4 finals.
It should be noted that 48 teams will compete in the WC-2026 for the first time. The World Championship will be held in the USA, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.
