Former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has clarified his relationship with Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo, with whom he previously played at the "Red Devils".
Idman.biz reports that Rooney has denied reports that their relationship is bad.
"People think I don't like Ronaldo. Actually, I respect him. He is a true genius, he does incredible things.
I loved playing with him. I don't think people understand how close we are. Maybe they think I don't like Cristiano because I said Messi is better than Ronaldo. I just worship Messi, I love watching him play, that's the only reason for my choice, because I think Lionel was a little better in terms of his game, his interaction with players, and so on.
Ronaldo is a true killer in football and people think I don't like him, that I look down on him, because I said Messi is better than Ronaldo," - ESPN quotes Rooney.
