"A very difficult game awaits our national team." These words were said to Sport24.az by Vurgun Huseynov, the former football player of the Azerbaijani national team.
The former defender spoke about the qualifying match for the World Cup 2026 that the team will play against Iceland away:
"The Icelandic national team plays extremely aggressively at home. If we want to win or get a point, we have to fight more than them. We must be very careful in standard situations. If we don't concede a goal, we can get the result we want. I wish our national team success."
It should be noted that the Iceland-Azerbaijan match, which will take place today, will start at 22:45.
