Vladislav Gadirov, a veteran football player of "Neftchi," spoke about the current state of the team. The former midfielder gave an interview to Sport24.az about this.
He also commented on the dismissal of Samir Abasov, the head coach of "the white-blacks":
"I was there at the match where they lost to "Imishli" (2:3). They congratulated me on my 55th birthday. I also watched the game. When the team lost to "Qarabag," I had a little hope. They didn't play badly at that time. But it must be admitted that "Qarabag" is very strong. After the arrival of Vincent Aboubakar, the team was a little inspired, and its potential also increased. In the last game, I liked "Imishli" very much. But I didn't see a team game in "Neftchi"."
The veteran player said that the team game was not visible in "Neftchi":
"In the last match, everyone preferred individual play. Team football was not visible. It was not known what the team and the head coach wanted. I didn't see the head coach's work. But everything worked out in "Imishli," and the head coach's work was in sight. "Neftchi" has good players who play individually, but you can't feel the team game. A new head coach will come soon. But the team is losing points. In this case, resignation is inevitable. At press conferences, they say that the team will improve, and time is needed. I also understand their arguments. But the management has done what is necessary. They have given time since last season. They brought in the players they wanted. When the head coach of "Imishli" came, I and others laughed. But they surprised everyone. They are very good for their budget. "Neftchi" is a club that should not lose to such teams."
