Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk said that after losing to Crystal Palace in the English Super Cup (2:2, 2:3 on penalties), there was a need to strengthen the attacking line. The experienced defender said this in a statement to talk Sport:
"We lost Nunez - he went to Saudi Arabia, and we lost Diaz, he went to Bayern. I think we need to strengthen the attack. We need to make the most of the summer transfer window."
Note that Liverpool have approached Newcastle striker Alexander Isak. But the Magpies are not yet willing to let the forward go. Newcastle even turned down the Reds' £110 million offer for the Swedish forward.
