Vinicius Junior, the Brazilian national team member playing for Spanish club Real Madrid, spoke about his teammates and unforgettable moments in the Champions League. Sport24.az reports that in a statement to the Spanish media, he noted that although he was not fortunate enough to play with Cristiano Ronaldo, he wore the same jersey as many great players:
"I wasn't fortunate enough to play in Ronaldo's team. But I have played with great players and have no reason to complain. I have played in the same team as Karim Benzema and Luka Modrić. They are very high-level players.
Karim is my favorite. We understood each other very well. He was a special player. We didn't even need to look at each other to understand where we were. He taught me a lot, and I will remember it for the rest of my life."
Vinicius also highlighted the dramatic matches in the Champions League in the 2021/2022 season:
"The 2021/22 season was special. Those comebacks... We felt that we could win. When we took the game against Manchester City to extra time, we already knew we would win. After Joselu's first goal against Bayern, we didn't even look at the scoreboard. We knew we would win. The magic of the Santiago Bernabeu is something else entirely."
