Brazilian footballer Vinicius Junior of Spain's "Real" (Madrid) club has been subjected to racist abuse in the 1/8 final stage of the Copa del Rey. Sport24.az reports that the incident happened yesterday after Real's match against Albacete (3:2).
After the final whistle, one of the fans in the stadium threw a banana at Vinicius. The incident was recorded by an employee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation.
In an official statement, Albacete club said that investigations into the incident have been launched and work is being done to identify the fan who committed the incident.
It should be noted that 25-year-old Vinicius has been wearing Real's uniform since 2018. He has been a Spanish champion three times with the Madrid representative and has won the UEFA Champions League twice.
