Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has assessed the possibility of facing Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.
Idman.Biz reports that Osimhen, speaking to CBS Sports ahead of Friday's draw, shared his honest opinions about potential opponents.
"To be honest, facing Liverpool right now would be like revenge. I won't say much, regardless of who we face, but I'd like to avoid Liverpool. If they are the opponent, we will do our best, but it won't be easy."
It should be noted that Galatasaray caused a major surprise by defeating Arne Slot's team 1-0 in Istanbul during the league stage. Osimhen scored the only goal in that match from a penalty. This time, the striker stated that he understands the difficulty of the Anfield atmosphere:
"We faced Liverpool, but we didn't play at Anfield. If we are opponents again with them, it will be a great match. I think we can handle this task."
The 27-year-old forward also emphasized the high level of the tournament:
"This is the Champions League, there are no easy opponents here. We see how Bodo-Glimt is performing. If you want to win, you have to play against big teams and prove yourself."
