Victor Font, who lost in the presidential elections held at the Barcelona football club, shared his thoughts on the results of the vote. As we reported, Joan Laporta was re-elected president of the Catalan club.
Idman.Biz, citing Sport.es, reports that Victor Font said they accept the defeat:
"We are disappointed. We hoped to transform the club and bring it closer to the fans. It's a pity, but we accept the result as it is. We congratulate the newly elected president Joan Laporta and his entire management team. We had created a different "Barca". We will continue this struggle because it is a noble cause, a step for the welfare of the nation. I will continue to work, fight and strive for "Barca" to be the club of my life and dreams".
It should be noted that Laporta led the "blue-garnets" in 2003-2010 and 2021-2026. The newly elected president will begin his duties on July 1 and will manage the club until 2031.
