A veteran football tournament will be organized in Ganja before the 3rd CIS Games to be held in Azerbaijan.
The chairman of the Football Veterans Union, Ogtay Abdullayev, informed "Report" about this.
He said that several teams are expected to participate in the tournament:
"The 3rd CIS Games will be held in Azerbaijan in September. The Minister of Youth and Sports, Farid Gayibov, asked us to organize an international tournament among veteran football players before this competition. The Minister said that we will be supported in the organization. We have planned the participation of 8 teams in the competition. We have prepared a list and started to determine the regulations. We want to hold the tournament in Ganja in June. Belarus, Georgia and Russia have already agreed. We also intend to invite veteran football players from Turkey. The new leadership of AFFA also supports us in these matters."
It should be noted that the 3rd CIS Games will be held from September 28 to October 8 in Ganja, Yevlakh, Mingachevir, Gabala, Shaki, Goygol and Khankendi.
