Well-known Ukrainian specialist Yuri Vernidub may return to coaching again. Sport24.az reports that the experienced coach has rejected several offers from Europe in recent days.
This was reported by journalist Mykhailo Spivakovskyi on the TaToTake program.
According to him, the most serious negotiations with Vernidub were conducted by the Bulgarian club "Ludogorets". Although the parties were in active contact for the last 10 days, the contract did not take place. One of the main reasons for this is the coach's principled position - he does not want to leave the country without special permission and does not consider working abroad until he turns 60 on January 22, 2026. However, it is reported that "Ludogorets" is ready to wait for him until the end of January.
According to Spivakovskyi, Vernidub's priority is still foreign clubs. Since there are currently no vacant posts in the Ukrainian Premier League, the main focus is on offers from abroad. The journalist especially emphasized one option - the Azerbaijani club "Neftchi".
In 2021, Baku also showed interest in Vernidub. Spivakovskyi assessed the team's current eighth place in the Premier League as a result that does not correspond to the club's name and history, and did not rule out that this option could become relevant again against the background of "Neftchi" looking for a new coach.
The journalist added that the coach also received an offer from Hungary, but he rejected that option as well due to political and social reasons.
