Yuri Vernidub, the head coach of "Neftchi", became the 4th foreign specialist to debut in the Premier League this season. According to Sport24.az, referring to the Professional Football League, the Ukrainian specialist led "Neftchi" to the home game against "Sumgayit" (2:2) in the XV round.
Previously, Saša Ilić ("Sumgayit") and Jorge Casquilha ("Imishli") debuted in the I round, and Valdas Dambrauskas ("Sabah") in the II round.
Thus, the number of foreign specialists who have been head coaches or temporary acting head coaches in the history of the Premier League has reached 69. Vernidub is the 10th Ukrainian head coach in the history of the Premier League.
He is the 33rd specialist to lead "Neftchi" in Azerbaijani championships. Vernidub became the 9th foreign coach and the 3rd Ukrainian coach of the "black and whites".
