Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has spoken about the death of his friend and teammate Diogo Jota, who died last summer.
Idman.Biz reminds that the Portuguese footballer died in a car accident in Spain while on vacation.
"Diogo meant so much to me, to the team, and to the whole club. Of course, first of all, he was important to us as a person. He was an incredible person. You wouldn't think he was Portuguese because of the way he behaved. The guys saw something of a Scottish character in Diogo; they even called him 'McJota!'"
Diogo was a very hardworking guy, and regardless of whether he played or not, he always put the team first. He always pushed everyone forward, set standards, and was always ready to listen. He was a very important part of the team," The Times quotes van Dijk.
