Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde has responded to reports that he would not play as a right-back in the Champions League second round match against Kayrat.
Idman.biz reports that the match in Almaty ended with Real's 5-0 victory.
"I have read several articles that damage my reputation. I know I have had some weak performances and I admit it. I'm really sad. People can say what they want about me, but in no case should they say that I refused to play. I have given everything to this club, I have even played with fractures and injuries and I have never complained.
I have a good relationship with the coach. This allows me to feel confident enough to tell him the position I want to play. But I have always said that I am always ready to play anywhere, in any game. I swear on my pride that I will never give up and will fight to the end by playing where needed," said Valverde.
