"We were expecting the whole game ahead, but we were a little hurried. We kept creating chances and that was the key to success. There were moments when we lost control, they entered our penalty area. We equalized before the break and that was important because we managed to come back in the end," said the head coach.
Valverde noted that his team failed to show composure to complete their attacks: "We could have created more scoring chances. By increasing the dynamics, we hoped that the opponent would lose themselves. When you are near the penalty area, you have to increase the pressure on the opponent. This victory was very important for us".
It should be noted that the match "Athletic" - "Qarabağ" ended with a 3:1 victory for the home team.
