"What can I say about this game? We can only talk about one person regarding this match. Today, there was a one-man show on the field. If you have watched carefully, I have never talked about referees in my post-match interviews. I have more than 400 games in my professional career. I have worked in the Balkan countries, in Greece. In Greece, when small clubs fight with top teams that are in the upper echelons, you can talk about refereeing for 3-4 hours. I have coached in Cyprus, but I have never seen such disrespect anywhere."
Sportal.az reports that these words were said by Valdas Dambrauskas, the head coach of "Sabah," at the press conference held after the match against "Sumgayit" (1:1) in the 6th round of the Misli Premier League. The Lithuanian coach criticized the work of the match's chief referee, Aliyar Aghayev.
The expert added that it is very difficult to comment and explain this: "If you want your league to develop... There are leaders in this league who invest, who do everything they can, and after seeing these things, they say, why should I invest? I cannot say what the referee's goal, intention was today. But today there was one person and he ruined everything."
He also expressed his opinion about the 2nd goal scored by "Sabah" and canceled by VAR: "What is VAR for? In our canceled 2nd goal, our player plays the ball. The opponent's attacker, on the other hand, makes contact with our football player. There can be no question of a penalty kick there. If the referees are going to make such mistakes, then they should already leave refereeing. You can't do that. But next week they will work again. They will still get their salaries."
