"I said at the beginning of the season that the management has done everything necessary to strengthen "Neftchi".
These words were said by the former coach of "Neftchi" Vagif Sadygov in his statement to "Futbolpress.az".
"The team has been performing confidently in the last rounds and I hope it will continue. The return of "Neftchi's" greatness will be beneficial for the development of the championship and Azerbaijani football".
Sadygov also touched upon the impact of Cameroonian Vincent Abubakar's arrival at the club on the results:
"Abubakar's impact on "Neftchi" is undeniable. By transferring him, the management created a different atmosphere in the team. He is a fairly experienced and high-quality player. Other players also try to play better next to him. This policy of the management, Samir Abasov's skillful use of it, is only good for "Neftchi". Let's hope that it will continue and we will see "Neftchi" fighting for the championship. This will also increase interest in the league and competition will increase."
