Vagif Sadigov: "There is a lot of work to be done in the national team, individual skills should be directed to team play"

This was stated to Idman.biz by Vagif Sadigov, Chairman of the AFFA Coaches Committee.

He shared his thoughts on the friendly match between the Azerbaijani national team and Latvia, which ended in a goalless draw: "Both the head coach Fernandu Santush and his team understand that these are the last test matches. It is very important to determine the optimal squad in these matches. There was relative stability in the squad in the game against Latvia. However, unfortunately, we could not achieve a positive result in this match either. We are still continuing our goalless streak. After the last game, it became clear once again that there is a lot of work to be done. In the words of Santush, a new team is being formed. Therefore, the individual skills of each football player should be directed to team play. We witnessed these features to some extent in the game against Latvia. If we compare it by parts, we will see that the second part was much better than the first."

Sadigov also spoke about his expectations from the friendly match between our national team and Hungary: "This opponent is much better than Latvia. But they have not achieved so many successful results in recent games. We have great hope for the national team. I think the team will try to show a good game in front of their home fans tomorrow. It will also demonstrate how psychologically ready it is for official games. Since it is the last test match, let's hope that we will see a good game."

It should be noted that the Azerbaijan-Hungary match will be held tomorrow at "Liv Bona Dea Arena". The match will start at 20:00.
