The amount to be paid for local players will be an additional incentive for clubs.

This was stated by Vagif Sadigov, chairman of the AFFA Coaches Committee, in his statement to "Report".

The experienced specialist expressed his opinion on the application of the financial incentive mechanism by AFFA for the appearance of local players in the squads of clubs competing in the Misli Premier League.

According to him, the new decision will be beneficial for Azerbaijani football:

"We must understand that if the legionnaire limit is abolished in the Premier League, we must also think about local players. The amount to be paid will create conditions for local players to appear on the field. I think the current situation will be an incentive for the clubs. The decision is calculated in favor of Azerbaijani football. Because there is a clause that a football player who has played in the same club's lower age groups or reserve team for a minimum of 3 consecutive seasons before being promoted to the main team will be paid more".

V. Sadigov reminded that clubs playing in the Premier League give chances to local players in the main team:

"The first round has already passed in the current season. We could not watch the games of "Qarabağ" and "Sabah". But when we looked at other clubs, we came across a pleasant scene. When the legionnaire limit was abolished, we all thought that the clubs would only play with foreign players. But in the first round, we saw that even ambitious teams use the services of local football players."

It should be noted that, according to the new decision, the bonus fund will be formed from the fees to be paid for legionnaire football players included in the application form of the clubs participating in the championship.
