"The coach should be evaluated for his work. But unfortunately, the result plays an important role." Vagif Sadigov said this in his statement to Sport24.az.
The chairman of the Coaches Committee commented on the dismissal of the head coach of "Neftchi", Samir Abasov:
"Samir Abasov was dismissed because "Neftchi" was not where it wanted to be in terms of results. When the coach is given a certain amount of time, the desired result is achieved. "Qarabag" can be shown as an example. Everyone is working for one goal. If they had dismissed any foreign expert, compensation would have been paid. Why shouldn't this apply to a local expert as well? We live in a legal country. Laws are very important. In football, a contract is signed to work transparently, and the terms of the contract must be followed. If they dismiss an expert who once made "Neftchi" champion, it means that the management wants to bring in a foreign head coach. Let's hope that the management's decision will satisfy the "Neftchi" fans. I hope the team will soon regain its former glory."
It should be noted that "Neftchi" lost 2:3 to "Imishli" at home in the XII round of the Misli Premier League. The team is currently in 8th place in the championship with 15 points.
