"We were very disappointed. We didn't expect such a result. The atmosphere in the stadium was also very beautiful." These words were said by "Karvan-Yevlakh" football player Vadim Abdullayev in his statement to Sport24.az.
The experienced football player commented on his team's defeat to "Kapaz" (1:2):
"The fans were able to fill the stadium. We make a lot of mistakes. They did not deserve this result. The cheap penalty decision given by the referee, and then the penalty not given to the opponent's goal, became the turning point of the game. It has become very meaningless since VAR came to football. The only way out of this situation is to work non-stop."
The football player, who was penalized with a yellow card in the match, will miss the next round's game against "Qarabag". Abdullayev stated that this decision was strategic:
"I was trying to get the yellow card myself. We have an important home game with "Shamakhi". It could be risky to get a yellow card in the next round away against "Qarabag". This was a strategic decision. Whoever comes out on the field in the game against the Aghdam club will do their best. The opponent has been the strongest team in Azerbaijani football for years."
It should be noted that "Karvan-Yevlakh" slipped to the last place in the tournament table after this defeat.
