"Union Saint-Gilloise" club has written its name in history by becoming the Belgian champion for the first time since 1935.
Idman.biz reports that this success was made possible thanks to an innovative approach based on an analytical model for the selection of players.
After the club was bought by British businessman and professional poker player Tony Bloom in 2018, the team began to change. He, along with his partner, implemented a system that, when selecting players, takes into account not only their playing qualities, but also their mental characteristics and compatibility with other players on the field.
Without large transfer costs, "Union Saint-Gilloise" managed to build a competitive squad and in 2025, after a 90-year break, sensationally conquered the top of Belgian football.
