Aston Villa head coach Unai Emery gave a statement after his team's match against Chelsea in the 18th round of the English Premier League.
Idman.Biz reports that the game ended 2:1 in favor of Aston Villa.
"I am very happy and grateful to the fans, because we need them and they are with us, transmitting their energy, and we are here to play for them. The players' game on the pitch was fantastic, but we had difficulty in the first half. We couldn't set a rhythm to control the ball and attack often. We had to defend and we did a great job at it. We conceded a goal after the corner and we had to change something in the second half while maintaining the structure of the game.
It is very difficult to beat Chelsea here. We wanted it and we are happy, but at the same time we are maintaining balance and trying to achieve our goal in every match. Our target is Arsenal," Emery's words are quoted on the club's official website.
After 18 games played in the English Premier League, Aston Villa has 39 points and is in third place in the standings. Chelsea is fifth with 29 points. Aston Villa will play its next match against Arsenal on December 30.
