Eight United Nations experts have appealed to the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) and the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) to ban Israeli clubs and national teams from participating in international competitions.

The newspaper "Israel Hayom" wrote on September 21 that UEFA may impose a ban on Israel from participating in competitions at its meeting on September 23. According to the newspaper, the vast majority of the 20 countries currently participating in the vote support the exclusion of Israel. Two or three countries oppose this.
