Azerbaijani midfielder Ulvi Babayev from Moscow "Dinamo" has been included in the extended squad of the Russian youth team (U-21) for the November training camp.
Idman.Biz reports that the Russian team will play three friendly matches against Iran, Kyrgyzstan, and Bahrain. The matches will take place on November 12-18 in Osh, Kyrgyzstan.
Recently, 21-year-old Babayev scored a hat-trick for Moscow "Dinamo" against "Krylya Sovetov" (4:0).
It should be noted that this is not the player's first call-up to the Russian youth teams. At the same time, playing for the Russian youth team will not prevent him from debuting for the Azerbaijani national team. According to FIFA regulations, a player can change the national team if he has not participated in official matches of the country's main national team.
According to media reports, the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) is working to involve Ulvi Babayev in the national team.
