The second "Ulduz Cup" international football tournament among 12-year-old football players has started in Guba.
Idman.biz reports that the opening ceremony of the tournament, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, AFFA and "Ulduz" Football Academy, was held today.
Arif Babayev, a representative of the Guba District Executive Authority, greeted the participants and wished the teams success.
Elchin Gasimov, a representative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, spoke about the selection of Guba as the sports capital and the holding of the first "Ulduz Cup" tournament here last season. He stated that although 4 foreign teams participated in last year's competition, this number has reached 8 this time. Gasimov emphasized the importance of holding such competitions in the country.
The event continued with an artistic segment.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan is represented by "Ulduz" FA, "Qarabag" FK, "Sabah" FK and "Neftchi" PFK, Turkey by "Trabzonspor school" and "Başakşehir" FK, Georgia by "Dinamo Tbilisi", Uzbekistan by "Pakhtakor" FK and "Bunyodkor", Kyrgyzstan by "Sdusshorsi", Qatar by "Aspire Academy", and Kazakhstan by "Shakhtyor" FK at the tournament organized at the stadium of the Guba Olympic Sports Complex.
